mURDAUGH mURDERS

mAYBE IT'S NOT WORTH MAKING A POST OUT OF THIS, BUT OH WELL, i'M DEVELOPING AN OPININ ABOUT THE aLEC mURDAUGH MURDER CASE IN sOUTH CAROLINE AND i CAN'T P[OST IT ON THE CHAT FEATURES SO i'LLL WRITE IT OUT HERE.  i DISCOVERED THE FULL COURT CASE WAS BEING STREEAMED AT yOU tUBE AND IT'S ODDLY COMPELLING, AND THEN i WATCHED THE WHOLE TESTIMONY BY aLEC HIMSEDLF TODAY, WHICH WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW.

aS i'VE BEEN COLLECTING MY IMPRESSIONS i'VE BECOME CONVINCED THAT THE EVIDEN CE SHOWS HIM TO BE GUILTY OF MURDERING THEM, ALTHOUGH i CAN ALSO SEE HOW THE DEFENSE MIGHT BE ABLE TO ARGUE THAT IT'S NOT BEOND A REASONABLE DOUBT.

i THINK HE WAS/IS VERY ATTACHED TO HIS FAMILYSO THAT ALTHOUGH i THINK HE COMMITTED THE MURDERS i THINK IT HAD TO BE MOTIVATED BY A CONFUSED OR TWISTED AIM OF PRESERVING WHAT WAS LEFT OF IT.  hIS OWN BEHAVIOR HAD PRETTY MUCH DESTROYED THE REPUTATION OF THE FAMILY ALTHOUGH IT DIDN'T ALL COME UPOUT UNTIL AFTER THE MURDERS, BUT ALSO HIS SON pAUL'S BOAT ACCIDENT HAD TAKEN A BIG BIT E OUT OF THE FAMILY REPUTATION.  mAGGIE AND pAUL BOTH KNEW ABOUT HIS ADDICTION AND mAGGIE WAS STARTING TO FIND OUT ABVOBOUT HIS FINANCIAL MISDEEDS.  hE HAD BEEN CONFRONTED ONLY THAT MORNING BY AN ACCOUNTANT AT HIS FIRM CONCERNING FINANCIAL IRREGULARITIES.  tHE FAMILY NAME WAS TEETERING ON THE BRINGK.  tHE MOTIVATING OFFERED BY THE PROSECUTION WAS THAT HE WANTED TO COVER ALL THAT UP AND GAIN SYMPATHY THROUGH THE MURDERS AND THAT SEEMS TO HA E BEEN A PART OF IT.  yOU'D THINK THAT SACRIFICING PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO SUCH A MOTIVATION WOULD BE UNLIKELY BUT IF YOU SEE HIM AS TRYING TO PRESERVE WHAT IS LEFT OF THE FAMILY LEGACY, THE BIGGER PIRCTURE, AND SAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF ITS CONTINUING IN HIS SON bUSTER, THEN ERADICATING THE EVIL FRUITS OF HIS ADDITIONS TO OPIODS AND HIS STEALING FROM HIS CLINETS AND HIS LAW PARTNERS IS PARAMOUNT.  aLSO THE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST HIS SON pAUL HAD TO GO.  hE LOVED mAGGIE AND pAUL, THAT'S HOW IT LOOKS TO ME, BUT THE FAMILY NAME LOOMED LARGER IN HIS MIND.  tHAT'S WHAT i'M THINKING.  sAVE THE mURDAUGH LEGACY AT ALL COSTS.  aN D AT THE SAME TIME PROTECT HIMSELF FROM HIS OWN FAMILY'S TURNING AGAINST HIM PERHAPS.  aLL HIS HOPES OR AON bUSTER, THE SURVIVING SON.

sOMETHING LIKE THAT.

wHY ISN'T MORE KNOWN ABOUT DEMONIC ACTIVITY IN SOCIETY AND IN THE CHURCH?

iN MY LAST POST i GIVE A FEW LINKS TO TALKS BY dEREK pRINCE ABOUT DEMONIC ACTIVITY AND HOW TO DEAL WITHIT.  hE TAUGHT IN THE NINETIES AND EARLIER, WAS A CHARISMATIC, MEANING HE ACCEPTED THE IDEA OF THE PERSEVERANCE OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS, AND HAD DEVELOPED A MINISTRY PREDIMONOMINANTLY ADDRESSED TO PROBLEMS OF DEMON INFLUENCE AND ASSAULTS ON cHRISTIANS.  sINCE HE DOESN'T SAY MUCH ABOUT HIS CHARISMATIC BELIEFS i DON'T HAVE ANY REASON TO MAKE AN ISSUE OF THEM, AND WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT DEMON ACTIVITY IS STRONLY BACKED UP WITH SCRIPTURE SO i'M MOSTLY FAVORABLE TOWARD HIS TEACHINGS.

nEVERTHELESS i WISH THERE WERE TEACHERS FROM THE REFORMED AREA OF THE cXHURCH WHO STUDY DEMON ACTIVITY AND HOW TO FREE PEOPLE FROM IT.  i DON'T SEE ANY REASON TO RELEGATE THIS AREA OF CONCERN TO THE CHARISMATIC CONTEXRT, IT'S NOT A SPIRITUAL GIFT OF THE SORT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN MERFELY TO AUTHENITICATE jESUS' IDENTITY AS THE mESSIAH, AND IT'S CERTAINLY SOMETHING THE cHURCH WOULD HAVE NEEDED THROUGHOUT ITS EXISTENCE.  i HAVE NO DOUBT THAT aMERICA IS FULL OF DEMONIZED PEOPLE TODAY AND i THINK IT POSSIBLE THAT AS pRINCE TAUGHT THERE IS DEMON INFLUENCE ON cHRISTIANS THAT COULD AND SHOULD BE ERADICATED BY THE NAME OF cHRIST WITH REPENTANCE OF SIN AND ALL THE OTHER CONDITIONS NEEDED TO FREE PEOPLE.

wHEN pRINCE SAID IN ONE TGALK THAT THERE IS NO REASON WHY ALL cHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT BE HEALED HE LOST ME COMPLETELY.  tHERE IS AT LEAST ONE AND i THINK MAYBE TWO INSTANCE OF cHRISTIAN VANGELISTS BECOMING SICK AND NOT BEING HEALED OR EVEN SEEKING HEALING AS REPORTED IN THE BOOK OF aCTS.  tHAT IS ENOUGH TO TELL ME THAT HEALING WAS NOT EXPECTED IN ALL CASES IN THE EARLY DAYS OF THE cHURCH SO WHY SHOULD WE EXPECT IT NOW?  bUT SURELY DEMONIC ACTIVITY, WHICH SOMETIMES DOES INVOLVE DEMONICALLY CREATED SICKNESS, NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH IN ALL TIMES.

aT THE VERY LEAST THERE ARE CERTAINLY MANY WHO ARE NOT cHRISTIANS WHO ARE DEMON IZED OR EVEN DEMON POSSESSED.  sINCE SCIENCE SO CALLED DOESN'T RECOGNIZE SUCH A THINKG WE CAN BE SURE MAN;Y CASES OF MENTALL ILLNESS AND CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR ARE MISDIAGNOSED.  i THINK i MENTIONED ON MY BLOG A FEW YEARS AGO THAT MY INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE CRIMES OF TED bUNDY CLEARLY SHOWED A DEMONIC PRESENCE, SOMETHING THAT WOULD COME OVER HIS FACE AT TIMES, SOMETHING THAT CAUSED ONE YOUNG WOMAN WHO WAS NO DOUBT ABOUT TO BECOME ONE OF HIS VICTIMES, TO FLEE BEFORE HE ENTICED HER INTO HIS CAR.  sOMETHING THAT ONE INVERVIEWER SAY SCOME OVER HIS FACE.  bUT ALSOO AN EVIL PRESENCE FELT BY A YOUNG WOMAN IN A DORM WHERE HE WAS IN HIDING BEFORE MURDERING TWO OF THE RESIDENTS, WHICH CAUSED HER TO SHUT AND LOCK THE DORR TO HER ROOM, AND THE SPOOKED BEHAVIOR OF THE CAT IN THAT SAME HOUSE WHICH HAD IT ALL BRISTLED OUT AND WALKING ON ITS TOES BEFORE IT BOLTED FROM THE HOUSE AS SOON AS THE DOOR WAS OPENED, THE NIHGT BEFORE THE MURDERS OCCURRED.  aLSO THE BEHAVIOR OF SOME DOGS WHEN HE WAS AROUND THEM.  aLL THAT SHOWED THAT HE WAS DEMON POSSDESSED.  bUT OF COURSE NONE OF THAT EVER GOT MENTIONED IN ANY OF THE ACCOUNTS.  wELL, THE EVIL PRESENCE WAS MENTIONED AND THE SPOOKED CAT AND THE LOOK ON HIS FACE, ALL WERFE MENTIONED WUT NOT THE OBVIOUS EXPLANATION THAT HE HAD A DEMON.

oF COURSE THERE IS NO POINT IN CASTING OUT DEMONS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT cHRISTIANS BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU CAN DRIVE THEM AWAY THEY HAVE LEGAL GROUND TO RETURN, AS THEY DO NOT WITH A cHRISTIAN.  tgHE ONLY REMEDY IS FAITH IN cHRIST AND BEING BORN AGAIN.  bUT THE GENERAL DENIAL OF DEMONIC ACTIVITY GIVES THEM COVER AND PERMITS THEM TO PROLIFERATE IN SOCIETY.

aNYWAY i HAVE AN UNPLEASANT REASON TO WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DEMON ACTIVITY AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM AND i CAN'T FIND ANY REALLY TRUSTWORTHY INFORMATION ABOUT IT.

\How To Pass From Curse to Blessing by Derek Prince complete - Bing vi\\deo

I can see well enough to  see that I'm making a mess of this ost.  I just aded the link abov3e and I hope it's possible to make use of it although I've broken it up and can't see how tgo get it back together.   It's an update I added just becaus3e it's easier to add something to an existing post than to start a new one, although this particular link doesn't belong in this one.  It's a link to a talk by Derek Prince from back in the nineties about generational curses and how to be released from them.  Demonic influence and so on.

Losing Your Life to Save It (Mark 8:34-38) - YouTube

=======================================================================s is often necessary these days, I must apologize for the chaotic elements of this poswt.    At the bottom I'e collected three links that didn't copy cleanly bvecause I coudln't see exactly where i'd placed tthe sursort, so I don't know if it's even possible for someone wanting to check them out can make use of them.  Also they are on subjects rather far removed from each other although I think there is enough ofa commonj thread to make some sense of their being put together here.  Often I just want to colect a link to a topic I don't waant to loses because it's on a n iportant current issue, and there is a wide range of csuch topics.

TThe first link I posted here is the one of the talk about the transgender craziness that has so rapidly taken over in our political lif3e.  It's a comprehensive talk and I wanted to preserve it and perhaps make a whole post about it.

But then I ran across the video about the man who had an experience of going to heaven and wanted to preserve that one too.   I ddin't get his name except for the first name James and a garbled version of the title of his book, something like An Unexpected Journey to Heaven.  I listened carefully to it because it was being highlighted by a podcast done by two men who call themselves Christians.  I know nothing about them but theyh apparently think many of the stories of heaven experiences are Christian in nature so I wanted to hear this one.

Wrell, "Jesus" papp[ears ikn this story.   and at one point his robe falls away to show what the protagonist calls "the remains of the crucifixion" or something like that, without sayihng anything more about it than that so I har no idea what he means.   Jesus, the real JjeJesus who appearaed to the apostles after His resurrection showed them the nail prints on His hands and the gash in his side where the spear had pierced Him.  That gash is the only thing that might have been revealed by the falling away of His robe, the hand prints should have been visible already with the robe intact.  So I have no idea what is meant her

tps://w

I'm sorry, I know a lot of this is very garbled, I just hope it's not beyond the ability of a reader to make out what I'm saying in spirte of it.

By the end of the man's story it was clear that the Jesus he was talking about was not the Jesus of the Cross who died for our sins, but a Jesus who wanted good works from him and from all of us, which is of course the primary teaching of all false religion.  Christians too are to do good works of coruse, but we are not able to do them except on the basis of believing the gospel of our slvation through the eath of Christ on the cross and being born again of the Holy Spirit.  Good works done on any other vasis are of no value.   What is lleft out of this man's story, as out of all such heaven stories and all false religion, is the gospel of alvation on which all true Chrsitians depend, the transofrming work that removes our sins and makes us fit for the Kingdom of God.  Without that, and the man who had this heaven experience is apparentlyh without it, we are not going to heaven, we are not saved.

And then I watched this morning's new radio show by Jan Markell which is all about the Catholic Church.  THfalse religions in the world which is gathering more and more of them into its anit

christ embrace.

Duncan Campbell on True Revival

t has to begin with a strong conviction of sin, a wave of fear of God possessing peopoe.

(Audio) The Revival On The Isle Of Lewis by Duncan Campbell - YouTube

Then a round tab le with three authors on the subject of the heritage of the West:

Thursday, January 19, 2023

Happened on a You Tube channel carrying biographies of Christian leaders and stories of revivals.   D L Moody was the first I saw, then the Weslewy borthers first John and then Charles, then the Welcsh revival of 1904, though I may have skipped something in between, not sure.  Then they did a program on the Millerites which became the SSeventh Day Adventists.  Not your orthodox denomination, especially when you see Ellen G White's strange eyes.    All interesting nevertheless.

But then Azusa Street and the Pentcostal movement and I knew I was in a fringe part of the Christian universe.I's the usual uncritical presentation that makes much of the phenomena such as tongues speaking as evidence of the "baptism in the Holy Spirit"  whicfh  only succeeds in confusing things .   I thought John MacArthur's Strange First Conference did a great job of showing that the
girffts of the PSirit" claimed by the charismatic movement are nothing like the gifsts described in the New Testament, and I could echo that from my own experience of having received the "tonguies" which I know are some kind of bogus experience and not at all the tongues of the Bible.  I was glad to  finally be set free from the charismtaic influence that had continued to hold me in spirte of my own recognition of its falseness.

B ut at the same time I've always felt that the reason people get involved in that movement has a valid basis, , that most Christians really do live on a level of experience much beneath what is possib le and woulde be a powerful impetus to the Churuch if God would bring it about.

I acce[t the basic Reformed theology that says we are born again at the point that we truly believe in the salvatgion given us by Christ .   I don't think what some call the baptism in the Holy Spirit subsequent to that is in fact that baptism, but is in most cases either conversion itself which hadn'[t happened earlier in spite of the claim that it had, or was a fuller inpouring of the Holy Spirit, and it's this latter that I continue to wish for myself as well as the Church.

The episode I saw about D. >L. Moody described his first conversion as rather dramatic, so it is easy to impute tto him the regeneration experience at that time and I have no reason to doub t it.  He was powerfully changed and moved to preach the gospel, major signs that he had in fact been tborn again.

Nevertheless later on some women in his congregation prayed for him and he recieving a deeper experience of the Holy Spirit, which  brought a definite increase in power to his preaching.  While he didn't preach anything new, what he praeched converted many more people than it had done before, although he'd had a a csuccessful ministry of conversions to that p[oint.   So  whatever this "second blessing" is it's not the born again experience, it's not the oirigianl baptism in the Holy Spirit like what was experienced in Acts 2 at the beginning of the Church, it must be simply a greater empowering in the Spirit, and it must be something we could and should seek.  When it comes to a whole congregation or community it's simply revival.

Seems to me we all need this and the Church needs it.  I know that if we are in the very last days, and there seems to be every rason to think we are, that many teach that we can't expect any more rfevivals, it's all down hill from here.  That may be true, b ut why should we just accept this idea?  Surely we always need more power of the Holy Spirit as individuals and as congregations and communitiies.  Why should that need some to an end just because the eworld is sliding into the last days, and even most of the churches?   Even if we have to accept that there is a great apostasy underway that doesn't inclucdde ALL the churches, there are still strue churches, there is still "the remnant" that looks forward to the Rapture.

TGhe charismatic "revivals of the nineties are some kind of sick joke.  While I'm wiloling to consider that some of those who experienced them did have genuine experiences of the Holy Spirit, as a whiole the revivals are obviously profane and unChristian.  There is a frivolousness at least that is not fitting a work of the Holy Spirit, a giddiness or jokiness about the tone of them.  Where is the powerful praching that draws people to Chrfist?  I don';t see it any of those so called revivals.  The Laughing Revival is maybe the most obvious bogus event.  Watchman Nee identifies that laughter as "soul power" and not of the Holy Spirit.

A genuine revival produces fear of God, a hatred of sin and a condenmnation of oneself as a sinner while Jesus death on the cross is magnified and preached with greater depth than usual. This may not describ e all genuine revivals but something of that tone must be present it seems to me or it's not genuine.

Just because we have to give up on the charismatic version of revival soesn't mean we should tive up on revival as such, but unfortunatley that does seem to happen. John MacArthur has always seemed to me to be positively allergied to any idea of  that we could have and certainly should seek more power from god.  If the bible is being preached conscientiously and conversions are happening that's enough for him.

It's not for me.Revival True and False

Prime numbers again

For some reason the silly dialogues between Bret and Heather on their Dark Horse Podcast about prime numbers inspire me to think about such things which normally I wouldn't.  Ive done a few blog posts about them already, and managed to flub up one that I've never gone back to correct.  But anyway, since this week they are going on and on about the subject on their nonprime nmber e episode 157 which is a prime number, I thought I'd try to explain what I think is the best way to figure out whether a number is prime or not according to my own stumblings around on the topic.

You look at the last ndigit in the number,  No matter who large the number that last digit is the key to whether it is prime or not.  If it's an even number you know it is not prime because it is always divisible by at least 2.   If it is a five it is not a prime number because it is always divisible by five.  If it is a zero it is always divisible by both five and two.

Once you've eliminated all the numbers as above, the remaining possibilities are one, three, seven and n nine.   At that point you consider what two-digit number ending in each of those is prime or noneprime.  It turns out that there are very few that are nonprime.  For instance, two digit numbers ending in one are eleven, twentyone,  thirtyone, fortyone and son on.  Of all those two digit numbers only twentyone and eightyone are divisible by a number other than one or itself.  Twentyone is divisible by seven and three, eightyone is divisiable by nineand three , so if your target number can be reduced to either of those as you divide it out in your head you know it is not a prime number,  But allt he other numbers ending in one are prime.

Same method with three:  thirty three sixty three and ninety three are all divisible by three and eleven or two etc.

Same process with seven and nine.  Lots more prime numbers than nonprime ones with these four numbers.

I think it works but I'm no mathematician.  If it works it reduces the toil of figuring out what's prime and what isn't as much as possible for a methmatical klutz.  That's my opinion.

Oops, no, two is not divisible into anything that ends in three.  Oops.  thirtythree, sixtythree and ninety three are divisible by eleven, nine and of course three.  Brain very tired though so even this may need to be corrected in turn.  Sigh.
